The Youth Computer Training Centres, in collaboration with private organizations, have emerged as a vital source of low-cost computer education for student-youth across West Bengal. With around 1,000 centres established, thousands of student-youth every year are acquiring practical skills that make them fit for the competitive job market.

The Department of Information Technology of the Government of West Bengal has taken initiatives to make the syllabus of these centres more up-to-date and compatible with the present job market. Additionally, the department has introduced an Online Examination System across all Youth Computer Training Centres, with a multinational organization entrusted to conduct the entire system of online examination and evaluation.

The implementation of this system has ensured parity in evaluating the syllabus of all Youth Computer Training Centres, with minimal manual effort and reduced chances of error. Furthermore, students can download their certificates online, adding convenience to the entire education system of these centres.

The Youth Computer Training Centres, under the Department of Youth Services & Sports (Youth Services wing), have thus become an essential platform for providing practical education and skills development to students, enabling them to become successful professionals in the job market. With constant updates to the syllabus and the adoption of innovative examination practices, the department is dedicated to providing a quality education and training to all aspiring youth in West Bengal.
